I targeted my applications to the more specialised houses because I was looking for a career with a firm that focused on M&A and Corporate Advisory and where I could be recognised as an individual. I wanted to be part of a bank that did not have a large number of graduates rotating through different divisions. I also wanted to be recognised as more than a number amongst 300 other graduate hires
