I am just now starting my education at ITT Technical Institute going for a Bachelor's degree in Software Application Programming. We don't use Macs!!! Is this the college that is going to give me the education that I need to work for Apple Inc.??? Please help if anyone has any idea if I'm on the right track or if I'm wasting my time and money at ITT. Does anyone know what colleges Apple Inc is hiring from? Thanks!
Also, what are the benefits that Apple offers, tuition reimbursement? What is the average entry level salary? I know it is expensive to live in Santa Clara County, will an entry level salary support my family of 4?

I'm considering a move from Australia to NYC (my wife is American) and wanted to get a sense of timing impacts. In Australia, Chrismas is the traditional holiday season and everything pretty much slows down in December and shuts down in January so that it's almost impossible to get work during that period if you don't already have it.

Assuming I don't have work lined up already, I wanted to get a sense of whether this is also the case in NYC or if it's slightly more forgiving for the job seeker?

I got my offer today from the BB&T LDP Program. I am graduating UF with a degree (BBA) in finance with a 3.6GPA. Anyone else get offers. By the way - offered 47.5k per year.

We're holding our monthy all day meeting in Somerset on Wednesday. In the past there has been criticism of how much money we spend to fly in all the architects and staff for our multi-day meetings, we're taking a different approach this month. We're all going out for dinner and drinks Tuesday night, and anyone is welcome to join us. It's all going to be expensed, so don't worry about the cost.  Then on Wednesday, we're bringing in breakfast and lunch, and you're all welcome to join us for free. It all gets charged to the cost center, and we always over order anyway, so come join us. We don't ever accomplish anything, but we always eat well.

Any comments/feedback are appreciated.  Please give me all positives and negatives.  I have an offer for an associate position within WFP in DC.  I really like the firm and Advisory in general and I feel that the offer is fair for someone right out of school.  I do have a couple concerns though, because the work is exclusively on federal clients.  

Will this limit my career after PwC because I have not had any commercial experience (I do not want to work in government)?  Or is it simply good enough to clients that I have any Big 4 experience and a CPA.

Do WFP employees receive comparable pay to those in commercial advisory?

How likely am I to be put in a trivial staff augmentation role and not receive ample experience?

I am planning on sitting for my CPA, so I feel this will definitely make me a more valuable asset within WFP.

I also have an offer for Deloitte FAS as a Forensic and Dispute services Consultant.  The offers are comparable.  What should I do?  I do not want to be pigeon-holed into fraud, but I do have an interest.  This position is 99% federal clients as well.  Thanks

Does anyone know the process of the background checks that Accenture does? I just got an offer from Accenture but I'm worried about the background checks. I have NONE felonies,misdemeanors or anything but my credit isn't all that great and I also fibbed a little bit about my previous salary. My previous employer is happy to go with the story but I'm afraid they'll ask me for a W2 or some how able to check with IRS how much I made last year. Can they do this?

One of the application questions asks if I have ever been convicted, ever, of basically ANYTHING. 

Is this even legal? 

Many years ago I got into trouble for drinking and fighting.  Not sure if admissions would find out, but if they did, and I said I haven't been convicted, I'm sure that is an automatic DENIAL.

Anyone have thoughts on how I should answer?  If I click yes I am supposed to provide an explanation...

The chances for ex-Bloombergers to bump into corporate finance or M&A are probably slim. (Not sure, any successful cases?)
But what about IB positions like institutional sales & tradings (S&T)? Especially for the data and sales plp at Bloomberg. Are they supposed to get enough exposure to the buy-side money managers and traders, thereofre paving a way to S&T? 

I've worked in management consulting for a while, and am currently scoping out other firms and opportunities, including AT Kearney. Does anyone know how compensation at AT Kearney stands up against some of the other top management consulting firms. I was also looking at the Procurement and Analytic Solutions group, which is apparently somewhat separate, but I have heard that the pay differs compared to other service areas in the firm. Does anyone know if this is true?
